衡量当代艺术的时间尺度仅需百年，而衡量陶艺的时间尺度则需千年乃至万年。
陶艺的魔力在于泥与火之间。火自天成，泥自地生。接连天地的是人，这是原始陶艺的历史隐喻。如今已被人淡忘了。
好的陶艺家应借助泥与火的神力，在泥与火的交融中抒发性灵。尊重泥土的本性，体悟火的热情，尽力掌控和释放泥火的天然势能。好的陶艺家不违逆泥火的天性和美感，使天地相聚。泥火的天性要成为陶艺家表达人性的温度的条件，发挥人性以和天地。
高振宇正是这样的陶艺家。
The time scale for measuring contemporary art needs just one hundred years, while the time scale for measuring ceramic art needs from one thousand or ten thousand years.
The magic power of ceramic art lies in soil and fire. Fire is a natural process, while the soil comes from the earth. Human beings are the ones who connect the sky and the earth, which is a historical metaphor of primitive ceramic arts. However, today it has been forgotten.
Excellent ceramists should resort to the magic powers of soil and fire and express spirituality in the blending of the two. They must respect the nature of the soil, realize the enthusiasm of the fire, try to control and release the natural power of them. Excellent ceramists don’t defy the nature and beauty of soil and fire, and unify the sky and the earth. The nature of soil and fire should become the prerequisite that the ceramists use to express the temperature of their humanity. The artists should develop humanity to unify the sky and the earth.
Gao Zhenyu is one such ceramist.
